Hello! My name is Lucía (Lu-sea-ah), and I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Orange County, in the beautiful Southern California region.
Knowing that not everyone feels at ease in front of the camera, I provide flattering posing guidance but do so in a manner that looks candid. Often, I arrive to sessions as "the photographer" and leave as a friend after sharing stories, laughter, and a safe space where my clients feel comfortable and free to be themselves. As a nature and architecture lover, I frequently incorporate surrounding scenery and architectural elements, such as clean backgrounds, strong leading lines, and abstract patterns in my work. I use both natural light and off-camera flash to create timeless photographs in any lighting conditions.
I started my photography journey to document my backpacking days more than a decade ago, using a Kodak point-and-shoot camera to capture the flavorful food, the welcoming people, and the novel sights I was witnessing while traveling. My intention was to bring back those visual memories to share the stories with my parents. To this day, my mother still gets excited to see my new work and listen to the narrative that accompanies it.
After graduating from UC Irvine (zot zot zot!) as a computer engineer, I decided to start a photography business. It has been a challenging yet exciting path as I continually develop my skills through self-directed study as well as classes at The School of Photography at Orange Coast College. I currently shoot mostly portraiture sessions (high school/college seniors and couples) and a select number of weddings.
I would love to hear from you! Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at (760) 235-9333.
P.S. In case you are wondering, Luzye was my nickname on IRC (the great grandpa of social media) circa 2000. I created it when I spoke Spanish only, so I pronounce it "Lucy."
